Independent Artists

True story of Introduction

We all want to tell you the story of our journeys and how it was a hard task to get our CD/s, books and other products out there.

In the year 2000 Jennarosa the founder of our Music Network started a collaboration program in music, screenplays and books.  By opening up a Self publishing label to support many Independent Artists around the world.  In the beginning there were so many judgements being made about our program, people assuming the worst, accusing statements, because many people read into our program the wrong way.

Well we thought Idol judges were tough but this really topped the cake

As we have worked mainly via the Internet with our online teaching program, we also ran into danger zones of certain people that tried to sabotage many of our introductions to assist Independent Artistry.  But that did not stop us, because we had a strong faith and were willing to give everyone a starting point in the program.  We believed in all  BUT some of them did not believe in us or themselves and their ability to succeed.

Many of our Artists needed nurturing, some knew what they were doing as they had years of experience, and some were there to learn and some tried to copy the program. We found that many of our collaborators needed to learn patience and understanding, focusing, marketing and the legal side of contracts and agreements. Without those tools many problems could occur in their music business journey.

Loyalty, dedication and team work plays a major role, as you need to find the right team to work with your program.  Many people wanted to start out with the idea in the beginning, but because it did not happen fast enough in reaching their goals, and them not wanting to learn the stepping stones to success, many people had too many teething problems and wanted to remain a couch potato.

All the waffling (some of our Artists felt it was waffling) that we introduce is to help each and everyone reach their goals by using the stepping stones we teach.  Sharing ideas, to make a great product for presentation.

Nobody’s  product is not going to be known if we just allow it to stay on the shelf or in the cupboard.  For the one’s that are serious about singing out there  or acting, being the great author in the community and making something of yourself,  there is a lot of hard work ahead. By creating a website and promoting your product, that is a starting point, but it does not end there, as there is more hard work ahead to get it promoted.

When we first started nobody wanted to promote our work, or even think of the idea to take a  "Not known Artist" into their hands and promote their CD or book out into the market place.

The Internet just exploded with the idea that Derek Sivers started in 1998, so Gevania Global Publishing affiliated with CDBaby and the family has grown over the last seven years.  In all three networks combined there are now approximately 249,000 or more dedicated songwriters in the global network. Over one million authors writing books and screen plays.  That is so good for Independent Artists.

Many of our associates, affiliated partners have their own way of promoting distribution of products but new ideas are always welcome.  As they say two brains are better than one, and don't put too many eggs in the basket.  Trying to work it all out by yourself can put you into "Burn out" and then you get writers block, chronic fatigue and cannot be bothered syndrome.

Of course all this does not happen over night, and we need to crawl before we can walk.  It takes a lot of hard work where "Virtual Office Assistance" can assist by writing letters to different companies, agents, publishers giving an introduction about  individuals, gaining credibility as not known aliens, and so on.

However Music lovers, authors and actors, we need to live in the real world, and tell ourselves that some of us are not going to make millions over night as this all takes time.

Digital downloads are the market to be, and hey I am so proud of all that we achieved to get our music and songs, out on digital download, and ring tones, and our CD/s selling. It is the same as books, images, whatever you are trying to promote out there, it is not going to move just sitting idol.

Furthermore, we must remember the public picks what songs they like, what book they like, we have no control over that issue. However we still need to help promote our CD/s by doing Venues, Gigs, have a CD party at home, or hold a BBQ and celebrate with friends the release of the CD. All work as a team to achieve more. There are plenty of ways to sell your product without it interfering with your busy lifestyle. And when promoting the release of your book, hold a meeting at the public library, introduce yourself to a local school share your book with the world.
